LODGE 8 FISHING DERBY & BANQUET

Minnesota FOP Lodge 8 has been hosting its fishing derby at Sportsman's Lodge on Lake of the Woods since the 2002. The fishing derby features a weekend of ice fishing culminating in the banquet on Monday evening. All entries for fish are done using the FishDonkey app. Register an unlimited number of fish in each category to increase your chances of winning!

The banquet features door prizes, t-shirt, raffle entry, meal, open bar, games of skill and walk around raffles with guns and other great prizes. In 2024, we introduced Lodge 8 Bucks, which can be used toward games and raffles at the banquet. Earn $25 worth of Lodge 8 Bucks for each new participant you bring to the derby.

General Rules and Regulations

You must be registered to enter a fish in the contest. You can enter multiple fish per category
You must use the FishDonkey app to enter all fish
You are not required to keep/kill any registered fish
Participants may only keep fish that are legal to harvest per State of Minnesota Fishing Regulations
All participants must follow all federal, state and local laws and regulations
Fish must be fresh and not frozen or present evidence of decay
Tournament waters include Minnesota side of Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River from Wheelers Point to the International Bridge in Baudette
Only fish caught in the allowed area on February 21 - 23, 2026 will be entered in the contest
Contestants must register qualifying fishing within the specified derby hours, 2/21/2026 at 12:01 a.m. through 2/23/2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Derby judges will be available at Sportsman's Lodge for any questions or issues with the app from 4 - 6 pm on February 23rd or call/text Nick at 507-469-0797 anytime
A drawing of all entered fish in each category will be conducted at the banquet following the derby
State and Federal game, and fish laws will be applicable
Minnesota gaming laws will be applicable
The decision of the tournament director is final
The tournament director reserves the right to remove anyone from the tournament or banquet
Open to Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and Friends/Family/Associates
Must be 21 to participate
MN FOP Lodge 8, its board or members are not responsible for injury, death or property damage
